Launch of the Youth Climate Ambassador Training Programme
Thirty-one faculty students have begun their journey as Youth Climate Ambassadors, taking on the responsibility of engaging with communities, identifying climate challenges, and addressing them through meaningful social action projects. This initiative empowers students to apply their academic knowledge in practical ways, while serving as catalysts of change in society.
Marking the Faculty’s 50th year of excellence, this first-of-its-kind programme complements the Life Skills and Social Action Projects introduced for new entrants in 2023. It reflects our commitment to extend learning beyond classrooms and nurture socially responsible graduates.
We extend our gratitude to the British Council Colombo for initiating and supporting this programme, and to Dr S. Arthiyan, the University Coordinator of the training programme, for his dedicated efforts.
This initiative will leave a lasting impact on our students, our communities, and the fight against climate change.
